Last year I wrote on my blog about Wild Deodorant and their kickstarter campaign, which was successful and allowed them to then spend 12 months developing a new deodorant that is natural, effective, sustainable and is single-use plastic free! I was asked if I would like to be one of the first 50 people to try their new product*, give them some feedback and if I liked it, do a fuller review on my blog.
I did like it but it got me thinking, why use a natural deodorant, why go to the trouble of finding one and ordering it specifically rather than just putting your usual spray anti-perspirant in your shopping trolley?
Well obviously you could sit for hours in the lovely sunshine we are having at the moment but a) that isn't practical and b) it's not good for your skin ... so instead I am getting started on my tan using St Moriz self tan products. Do you fake tan? Or are you still nervous of it going wrong? I thought I'd share a few easy tips on getting the best fake tan because I am pretty happy with my results every year.
I used to steer well clear of self tan as I just wasn't brave enough but in more recent years the products just seem to get better and better and with so many options available it is possible to find just the right self tan for you. But it can get expensive trying them out! In all the years I have been using self tan I have only ever used St Moriz, yes I have tried others, but I have still ended up going back to St Moriz.
This year St Moriz gifted* me a few of their products which seeing as I use them anyway was an extra bonus and it has given me the opportunity to try the different self tan products they offer.
One of my indulgences is to get a regular manicure and pedicure at my local salon, No 21 Beauty Within. I love chatting with my nail technician Jane and of course I like to keep my hands, feet and nails in good condition and looking gorgeous. I get bio-sculpture gel nails every 2-3 weeks and then I have a pedicure and again bio-sculpture applied every couple of months. My favourite nail colour is red!
But like the rest of the UK (and most of the world) I can't go to my salon at the moment as it is closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. I did get my nails done before lockdown so I am good for another week I hope! Recently B-Line Beauty got in touch to ask if I would like to try out some of their feet treatments (gifted*), I agreed the timing was perfect and an 'at home pedicure' would be very welcome.
What are your thoughts on injectable 'tweakments' - botox and fillers? It is not something I have even considered, up until now that is, seeing young girls with lip fillers and famous older women with stretched skin and unnatural expressions just didn't do it for me and having always looked pretty young for my actual age it hadn't even hit my radar. Then I was invited to go along to the Bodyvie Clinic in Richmond to meet their Lead Doctor and Medical Director, have a chat about their 'meno-tweak' offerings, try out a treatment and chat about all things menopause. I talked about this more in my post here - An introduction to advanced medical aesthetics with Bodyvie in Richmond.
Bodyvie is a beautiful modern clinic, easy to find and access in Richmond and they made me feel very welcome. They have over 20 years of experience in medical aesthetics and are now offering private HRT consultations, and at a very competitive price point too.
