How is your summer going? My holiday to Turkey feels like ages ago now and I am busy helping my daughter get ready for starting university at the beginning of September. One of our tasks was to get to know Bath a bit better - having only visited for open days - then her interview - we thought it was time to explore a bit more and help her get her bearings.
So earlier this week we took the train from Reading to Bath Spa, we did a city walking tour around the main sites, we tried the buses, we went shopping, we bought some more essential items she needs for her course, we lunched, we laughed and generally had fun! We stayed at a gorgeous Boutique Hotel, Grays and sat in bed and watched the Love Island final (yeah I know, don't judge me, actually I haven't watched the series but I did watch the final)!

Hi, how are you all? This is a chatty post, a bit about what I have been up to recently and to share with you a lovely new skirt I recently wore from Hush. I loved it so much, I thought the outfit deserved a post all of its own. Having recently published a post about summer dresses, I thought this sat nicely beside it. I had one of those random online shopping evenings a couple of weeks ago, I was home alone, hadn't bought anything for a while and got an urge to actually buy, as opposed to just fill various virtual baskets (anyone else do that, fill the baskets but not actually press place order?) anyway, most of it went back as I knew I really didn't need it. But a few bits did survive, including this outfit.
You will have seen from my posts in the past that I am all for wearing the bikini and for encouraging and promoting body positivity. I don't believe there should be an age limit to what we choose to wear, I am certainly not going to be too hot and not get a tanned tummy because 'someone' says it isn't the done thing to wear bikini post 50. So as many of you set off on your summer holidays this year I hope you will find these encouraging words helpful. whether you decide to rock a bikini or enjoy wearing a super-flattering swimsuit, relax and enjoy it!
My summer essential used to be white jeans. Then I discovered summer dresses! And they have become much more popular among the style savvy, I think because we can now wear them with trainers!! I mean who would have thought that 20 years ago? Our grandmothers would have been shocked. And dresses are just so easy, no need to think about what to put with them, put it on and go.
So today's post is a round up of what I love at the moment and some of my own dresses that I have been wearing and loving for more than one season. Because our summer dresses rarely wear out so choose well and you will get lots of wear out of them. I will style the same dress multiple ways by changing by footwear and accessories. |
