My summer essential used to be white jeans. Then I discovered summer dresses! And they have become much more popular among the style savvy, I think because we can now wear them with trainers!! I mean who would have thought that 20 years ago? Our grandmothers would have been shocked. And dresses are just so easy, no need to think about what to put with them, put it on and go. So today's post is a round up of what I love at the moment and some of my own dresses that I have been wearing and loving for more than one season. Because our summer dresses rarely wear out so choose well and you will get lots of wear out of them. I will style the same dress multiple ways by changing by footwear and accessories. My go to shop for summer dresses has to be Hush, over the years I have had some fabulous dresses that I wear year after year. A shirt dress is a great style for the temperamental UK weather. This is the Hattie Middie Shirt Dress £75 (above) and below is the Kensington Shirt Dress £75 worn here with my Gucci belt, Vionic Keke trainers (now in the sale) and handbag from Karen Millen. Then for really hot days at home or sunny holidays abroad, I love a halter neck or off the shoulder style. Again Hush is my go to and I have just treated myself to the Twist Back Dress £89 it comes with a belt so you can style more formally or casually without the belt. It is a lovely soft fabric with a gentle sheen. I think it will be similar to this one, my favourite from two years ago. I style this slightly differently every time I wear it. This week I added my round rafia bag (The Wendy House) changed the tassel to match the pink, took a scarf from Wild at Heart Gifts in Broadway in case I needed some warmth around my shoulders and accessorised with my Gucci belt and my Holster sandals. And this week I discovered you can buy F&F clothing online at Next! I often see a gem from F&F on Instagram but hate going into Tesco, whenever I do I never see anything I like as I just don't like the presentation of clothing in a supermarket. But looking online is completely different. This one was £26 and is a really pretty fabric and colour. I wore it to an event earlier this week and got so many compliments. Mint Daisy Midi Dress £26 via Next. Then there is this one from Zara, Cream Rustic Dress and only £29.99 it is a linen mix, I sized up to a Medium. It has pockets!!! It is so flattering. And just leaving you with my 'twinning' moment of the week! I was at Diana's Wardrobe pop up event and another lady walked in wearing the Hush jumpsuit the same as my black star dress (above). The Bambi Drawstring Jumpsuit is now in the sale at £55. It was lovely to meet you Jane, you look fabulous in the jumpsuit! My message is enjoy your summer dresses, don't save them for best, be bold and get out of jeans more often. Love from Michelle xx Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links.
