My hair is naturally kinky, not quite straight hair, not quite curly hair either and for most of my adult years I kept it short and cropped because it was easier to style. But when my daughter was born in 2000, suddenly I wanted longer, softer, prettier, girly hair! I started growing it but I remember the inbetween phase being a bit of a nightmare to manage. I persevered and was delighted when I could finally afford the original GHD hair straightener! It was a revelation and made keeping my hair long possible and styling easier. But of course over use of straighteners in particular will cause heat damage and dry hair and I have certainly had hair breakage and thinner sections. Although HRT has improved the condition of my hair, I still need to be mindful of not over using hot styling tools. My hair can get quite frizzy on a damp, rainy day, and frizzy hair is no fun, those pesky curls reappear and head in ridiculous directions leaving me feeling very self-conscious. I tend to wash my hair every day, I don't get on very well with dry shampoo, and air drying it naturally isn't an option, I look like the Mad Professor, so I want to keep my morning routine and blow-drying time to a minimum, but maximise healthy hair! I've owned both th GHD hair dryer and more recently the Dyson hair dryer which I love, so could it get any better? Well I was recently sent the Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer to try out and review! And the good news is that it does get better, the Zuvi Halo provides faster drying, shinier and healthier hair. Read on to find out how I got on using the Zuvi Halo and my top tips for fast drying and minimal damage ... This blog post is sponsored by Zuvi.

Collaborative Post | The bomber jacket was originally designed for military troops but it swiftly became a staple fashion piece. The original leather jacket was made out of leather and fur but soon it started to evolve and since then the leather bomber jacket has seen numerous changes over the years. However, due to its appearance, comfort and durability, the leather bomber jacket for women is still the most fashionable choice.
A personal post, last week my sisters and my dad took a really fun road trip to Ypres in Belgium to visit the WW1 battlefields. It all started with my dad wanting to go on a coach trip, but when I looked into it, I felt the itinerary wasn't really suitable for his mobility issues. But myself and my two sisters decided it was a trip we'd love to do too! We set about organising and planning and we had the most fantastic time, making memories, learning about distant relatives and exploring the history of the First World War as well as enjoying the beautiful Belgian countryside (and chocolate) and simply spending time together.
If you've never been, and you have an interest in the history of the two world wars then add it to your bucket list! We've all been to the Normandy Landing Beaches, both as children with mum and dad and then again with our own children - also highly recommended. So finally making it to Ypres filled a few gaps in our history knowledge. Here is a little summary of our itinerary and a few suggestions of things to do in Ypres (Ieper). |
