Back in early Spring 2021 when we still thought we might be able to fly somewhere hot like the Greek Islands or Turkey, I saw my friend and got chatting about her apartment in Cornwall, she said she was already getting booked up for the summer. I took a gamble, decided to ditch any idea of a trip abroad and booked a week at her apartment in Portwrinkle, South East Cornwall. Thank goodness I did! And how lucky were we that it turned out to be the a UK heatwave week!? Seriously, we could have been in the Med!
But arriving in Portwrinkle was a bit of an experience ... I have never visited that part of Cornwall before. Actually, apart from Bude, which is only just inside Cornwall from North Devon, I have never holidayed in Cornwall!! But Portwrinkle was so remote, our 20 year old daughter was a bit worried about being stuck with her parents in the middle of nowhere for a week!! Her worries were unfounded though and we had an amazing week, a quiet beach, views to die for, a comfortable home from home and peace and tranquility to enjoy the fabulous weather.

So I'm taking a little blogging break!
I like to take a step back during the summer holidays, my daughter is home from uni and we have a week in Cornwall then a few nights in Anglesey organised. I'll still be posting on my Instagram grid and stories if you follow me there.
And I'll be back to share a few personal posts in August then regular blogging with renewed energy and organisation in September (well that's the plan).
Today I am packing - and I don't like packing! I have a system of sorts, I prefer to be organised first, so tidy house, washing and ironing all up to date, outfits hanging and a capsule wardrobe ready to build on. I have a list too so I don't forget the all important basics.
I am a nightmare for fitness motivation!! I go at my fitness with great enthusiasm, manage a few weeks, even months ... then life gets busy and the overwhelm kicks in and my motivation to workout is the first thing to go! Please tell me I am not alone!? I do not love exercise and add in midlife, menopause brain fog and lethargy and my fitness motivation hits zero! So, in today's post, I am sharing my struggles with workouts and why we should not beat ourselves up but find something we love and keep it simple! Hello! Another month gone by and I am now feeling a bit cheated, where is summer? Yes we've had some brighter days but I've not really done the sitting outside much or BBQ fun yet. I am really hoping for a change in July as we are off to Cornwall then Anglesey for a few days.
I am delighted about the new Health Minister, no comment on the circumstances, but I am encouraged to read that Sajid Javid has said 19th July 2021 will be the end of the restrictions in the UK and we have to learn to live with Covid. I will be ready to burn my masks, I have hated wearing them!
Now when can the world travel again? I've got a wardrobe full of summer dresses and swimwear I want to wear!
