A skirt that can be worn all year round and styled lots of different ways, a classic wrap style in black and cream - this one from Roman Originals is so versatile. There is a lot of talk about 'winterising' our summer skirts and dresses and getting more wear out of our wardrobe so we are not always buying new. Now I wouldn't suggest that all summer skirts will work during the winter as lets face it, it could get quite chilly, and I am all for wrapping up warm. But add warm tights and winter boots and unless you are standing at the side of a football pitch, then this really can be an option for milder days. This is the Black Contrast Spot Wrap Midi Skirt from Roman Originals and at just £30 it is a really good price. It has a light silky feel to it, has a pretty side-tie, generous fabric for the wrap and I love the reverse pattern (cream spots on black and black spots on cream). It is so striking, I have paired it here with black boots, black cotton jersey top from Mint Velvet and a statement scarf from Sweet Bea. For a slightly dressier look (out to dinner maybe), I have added a simple black crop jacket (old from Mint Velvet) and a statement red velvet bag from Ted Baker (last year, but similar in John Lewis here). And here you can see the top from Mint Velvet a bit clearer - Curved Bardot Top. Here I am wearing it more casual with trainers from Vionic and a warmer jumper from Hush (this is the Mila fine knit here) still with the red scarf, I would add a black biker or my short faux fur jacket. This would also work with black ankle boots. Then finally what about summer or evening? Here it is with a black camisole top from Mango and black sandals - I have dressed this up for a party look summer or winter but you could easily change the black camisole for cream and wear flat sandals. My sandals are from Moda in Pelle but there are similar ones in Dune. Where items are still available to purchase online I have listed them below. And Sweet Bea are currently offering my readers 20% off their scarves and accessories online - use the code FABFIFTY20 at checkout (valid until 11th November) A few of these red pom pom scarves still left! What do you think? I love the monochrome of the skirt and the versatility it offers.
