Collaborative Post | I am a complete convert to the home workout! Home gyms have grown hugely in popularity since the pandemic, whether it be a corner of your bedroom, a spare room, or a purpose built space in or outside of the house. For a while, I was lucky enough to have our log cabin as a home gym but unfortunately it has now had to go back to being used as my husbands office (temporarily I hope)! But whether you like to do strength training, running, power walking, HIIT workouts, yoga, weight lifting or follow a Youtube video ... the right workout kit is vital. It is all too easy quickly change into leggings and a t-shirt and set off for a run or start a workout, but how often do you make sure you are wearing a proper sports bra to support your breasts? I am owning up .... I don't! But we should - the importance of a sports bra or a properly supportive, fit for purpose, running bra cannot be underestimated. It is essential! A good sports running bra is an essential part of your workout kit (Photo by erica steeves on Unsplash)

That moment when you know you are going to sneeze ... when you have to prepare by crossing your legs and hoping for the best ... also known as stress incontinence, it is something we are often too embarrassed to talk about but it is estimated that it affects 9.6 million women in the UK, it is twice as common in women than men and it affects women of any age, although is more prevalent after childbirth and it does become more pronounced as we reach midlife and our peri-menopause and postmenopause years.
I noticed some stress incontinence after having my two babies, both were vaginal births and my son was a ventouse delivery, putting me at slightly higher risk of urinary incontinence. However, despite being told to do my kegel exercises (pelvic floor exercises) by my midwife and at my NCT classes, I wasn't as committed as I knew I should have been. Even though I did try to remember 'in the queue at Sainsbury's' which seemed to be the general advice, the reality was I was too busy thinking of other things, like keeping my baby happy! The other prompt I seem to remember was 'can you stop a wee mid-flow?' Then along came menopause and I initially escaped any worsening of my symptoms until early in 2022 when my HRT stopped working and my menopause symptoms returned, or in the case of my intimate health, seemed to start. Red Clover for menopause, hot flushes and night sweats | half price offer from FutureYou Cambridge19/12/2022 I have worked with FutureYou Cambridge in the past - I love their magnesium supplement and believe that magnesium is an essential supplement we would all benefit from adding into our routine especially for quality of sleep - so I was very happy to share this discount offer with my readers. FutureYou Cambridge have some surplus stock of both their Red Clover for menopause supplement and their Prime Fifty Skin, Hair & Nails supplement and they are offering Fifty & Fab readers a massive 50% discount ... use code FABFIFTY at checkout.

I've always been completely honest, if there was a (safe) magic pill I could take to lose fat from my tummy area, without dieting and without exercise, I'd be first in the queue! I eat a fairly sensible balanced and healthy diet, I am quite petite and certainly not overweight, and I do love the post-workout feel good factor! But I lead a busy life and I don't love exercise enough to prioritise it consistently. But in the absence of a safe magic pill I was very intrigued when I started to read about the original EMSculpt and the latest EMSculpt NEO from BTL Aesthetics. Could these non-surgical treatments really work and provide us with an effective body contouring solution, a non-invasive treatment with no downtime? Are they worth the investment?
So I was very excited to be invited to experience and review a full course of EMSculpt NEO treatments myself at the multi-award winning, doctor led, medical aesthetic clinic, S-Thetics in Beaconsfield. S-Thetics specialise in the most up-to-date and scientifically based skin and non-surgical body treatments. The S-Thetics Clinic was founded by surgeon and cosmetic doctor Miss Sherina Balaratnam. Miss Balaratnam has over 23 years medical experience, she trained as a plastic surgeon for 6 years is passionate about offering the most advanced skincare products and facial treatments as well as non-surgical skin rejuvenation and body contouring using the latest medical grade technology there is. Having won 'Medical Aesthetic Practitioner of the Year' at the prestigious annual Aesthetics Awards in 2022, Miss Balaratnam is well-respected, highly trained and knowledgeable. She is a much sought after expert especially as the S-Thetics Clinic also won 'Best Clinic South England' in 2022 and Beaconsfield is such an easily accessible town to access from London and the whole of the South of England. I spent my teen years living in Beaconsfield and have loved going back to the Old Town to visit the clinic over the last few weeks. The fast trains from London Marylebone only take 20-25 minutes and the S-Thetics Clinic is a short taxi journey from the station. This is a gifted blog post. |
