A work-from-home setup can be the ideal work arrangement for some people, but it can be restrictive for others. This is because a remote work setup eliminates some activities that make your life engaging. For instance, we shared in our previous post that working from home reduces social interactions between team members, which is vital for your mental health and the success of your relationships.

I am about to go on holiday! At last, it has felt like a long wait this year, we decided to take a later holiday due to my daughter job hunting and some other commitments. It has certainly been a busy few months and I feel ready for the break. But before I went I really wanted to get back to a healthy weight, improved overall health and regular exercise - weight management during menopause is a challenge isn't it!? I just wanted to feel better, having had a stressful few months with hormonal changes, HRT issues and a return of my menopause symptoms. I talked about midlife body confidence on my blog recently, but I am still a work in progress! Weight loss is not my main goal but improving my eating habits and having a better exercise routine as well as embracing a healthy lifestyle is!
I knew I'd allowed my routines to slip. I knew I was drinking a bit too much wine (lockdown I blame you), I knew my meal planning and healthy eating had gone a bit awry! I knew I'd got lazy about meal prep and that skipping lunch had become a bit too common, then making do with unhealthy snacks later in the day. And I'd also not found an exercise routine I was able to stick to. - I love the massive benefits of strength training but I don't want to do an hour in the gym and I never seemed to find the right YouTube videos to give me consistency. I wanted to make simple adjustments but I needed some help! This is a gifted blog post. With the recent return of my menopause brain fog, so my ability to organise my life and structure things like meal planning and meal prep has been severely curtailed! The good news is that after 12 weeks back on Oestrogel I seem to be on the way back up and am beginning to feel better, so much so that I have decided to focus on my health and fitness again, but that means being better organised!
I know that planning and prepping meals and snacks really does save time, reduce stress and help with weight loss goals. My daughter is home for the summer, fresh from her degree and Norland diploma which included modules on food technology and meal planning, she is going to help me get back on track and organise my shopping and freezer again! Looking back to when I did The Body Coach, I realise just how organised I was and how it made such a big difference in helping me lose some weight and then maintain that loss. But life got busy and I started making excuses and my better habits faded away. I've had bursts of focus, I loved doing my Menu & Mind course with Jo from Time to Nourish and learnt so much about healthy eating and batch cooking. Then the pandemic seemed to knock us all off kilter and here I am nearly three years later trying to get back to a better routine. I hate feeling disorganised but I feel like I have been muddling through for too long. I am definitely not a cook and although I don't mind being in the kitchen I do want my time to be used as efficiently as possible and to be able to create healthy meals and snacks with the minimum of fuss in the minimum of time! This blog post contains gifted products and affiliate links. I did 14 Hypoxi sessions at Dorota's Lifestyle Studio in Chiswick over a 4 week period and I am delighted with my results, it wasn't always easy to get to my sessions, there is certainly a time commitment, but I lost 17.5 cm from my mid section and I learnt that I can fit exercise into my increasingly busy schedule!
You can read more about What is Hypoxi? on my earlier blog post but basically Hypoxi helps your body's natural fat burning with low impact, low intensity exercise and vacuum compression technology to increase the circulation where needed. Hypoxi supercharges what your body does naturally and independent studies show Hypoxi to be 3 x more effective than regular exercise. It is particularly good for skin health, improving skin tone and reducing cellulite due to its ability to target the extremities! Hypoxi is good for weight/inch loss, body shaping and it is one of the best cellulite treatments. Hypoxi is also a gentle form of exercise that anyone can do, even if you are unfit and hate exercise and age is no barrier ... Dorota has one client in her 80's! This blog post is part of a gifted collaboration. |
