What special occasions do you have to look forward to this summer? Whether it is a wedding, maybe a 50th or 60th birthday party, a barbeque, a trip to Ascot or a christening, Afibel have lots of options to help you choose your stand out outfit. Add in shoes you can walk in and wear all day and seek out some gorgeous accessories to elevate your look, you really will be feeling fabulous. For my collaboration with Afibel this month, I am sharing ideas for styling a selection of special occasion outfits. From formal to relaxed, I think there is something for everyone and Afibel really do offer a huge range of inclusive styles for every BODY stocking sizes from a 6 to a 34 with designs that are both flattering and comfortable. And don't shy away from admitting you want to feel comfortable either! I've long since ditched the high heel shoes, the restrictive waistbands and tight shift dresses, life really is too short for shapewear and feeling hot and flustered. Let me know what you think, I'm starting with my favourite colour, red combined with polka dots and a wrap neckline ... This is a sponsored blog post. A more formal look for a summer eventThe EMINENCE mid-length crossover dress in a red dot print, is soft, swishy, and fun, the crossover is flattering for a fuller bust and the tie belt cinches you in at the waist. I am wearing it with the TILLOY straight button jacket in basketweave fabric, this is the ivory colourway but there are lots of colour choices. This outfit oozes fun, flirty and a little bit more formal, the dress is lined and the sleeve length is perfect for arm cover or unpredictable summer days. My clutch bag is from Next, and the slingback shoes are current season Vionic, and a note about Vionic shoes, they are ideal for long days on your feet with stability, arch support and extra cushioning, they are good for your feet and stylish! A casual dressed up look for a summer garden partyI'm dreaming of summer days in the garden and time with friends and family, I love sun and warm holidays and I think this dress is the perfect 'dress up or dress down' addition to your summer style. It is the ELISA long flared dress with tropical print in green (also comes in blue). It is a soft stretch jersey fabric which feels very light and floaty, it has a crossover style neckline and elastic on the waist, I've added gold and cream accessories and a thin gold belt for extra definition. I am wearing a size 10/12 and I would say it is a slightly generous fit. Wear it to a celebratory summer event, garden party or barbeque, styled here with wedge sandals (previous gift) from Phase Eight, gold belt (Boden) and cream bag (Amelia Rose Accessories). Swap wedges for trainers and it would also make a great travel outfit. This is such an easy throw on style! Simple style for a celebratory lunchThis is a cute little dress, easy to wear, flattering shape, stretch fabric and I love the leather effect belt with silver beads, it is the EDALIE short print dress in a lace knit. I could imagine wearing this out for a lunch date in the summer months. I am styling it with a silver clutch bag and sandals from Next. Mixing and matching formal and casual styleI thought the TILLOY jacket deserved to be dressed down as well as up! It is important when choosing special occasion outfits to think how else can I wear the items I am buying. Make your wardrobe work hard for you! I'm thinking early evening drinks at the pub with friends for this gorgeous outfit. My dark wash jeans are from Hobbs, the khaki vest top is from Marks & Spencer (current), silver sandals are from Next (current), bag and strap is from Amelia Rose Accessories. To add detail. I'm wearing 'sleeve garters' to shorten the jacket sleeves for a relaxed look. Do make sure you check out the full range of occasion wear at Afibel, there are lots of styles including dresses, skirts, trousers and jackets and some really pretty blouses. I'm excited for the clock change over the Easter weekend, we have lots to look forward to, we are seeing family for afternoon tea, meeting friends for dinner and I'm going to cook roast lamb on Easter Sunday! I also want to continue with my wardrobe decluttering and sorting! Let me know what summer events you have coming up in the comments below!
