The spring season is almost here, blossom is beginning to appear, the daffodils are slowly opening, the snowdrops are in full bloom and we've even had a few sunny, mild days to lift ours spirits. And I don't know about you but with the promise of warmer weather my thoughts are turning to my spring style. French fashion brand Afibel are celebrating their 70th year in 2024 and they asked me to share a series of blog posts to showcase different ways to style some of their fabulous fashion for women over 50. I'm starting with Afibel's new spring collection of versatile separates! Afibel is proud to offer a comprehensive range of fashion for every BODY type, offering sizes from 6 to 34 and their new spring collection is the perfect balance between fashion, comfort and practicality with an emphasis on timeless style. This is a sponsored blog post. My favourite item from the new Afibel spring collection was the classic trench coat, I found it was such a fabulous neutral colour that it will undoubtedly prove to be a versatile wardrobe staple, and short trench coats offer an easy to style, lightweight coat that solves the problem of being too long (and dragging on the ground in rainy weather or when getting in and out of the car). As a petite woman (I am 5'2") the longer trench styles can drown me, this new trench coat from Afibel is the perfect layering piece for spring and really sets off the others styles I chose. Find out how I am styling a selection of new spring styles from Afibel ... Outfit 1 - A casual outfit with white jeans and a blue spring knit A wardrobe must-have, the white jean, can be difficult to get right and fit isn't always easy, this cotton pair from Afibel are a straight leg design with a little stretch and a silver diamante stud detailing on the pockets. They were slightly longer in the leg for me but easy to turn up and I am happy to reject white skinny jeans, I'd much rather a straighter style. The NANTERRE straight leg jeans come in a selection of fantastic colours and as well as stretch fabric they also have a stretch waistband too! Worn with the MACHY blue knit jumper, and of course the TOSCA short trench coat. This is a timeless, double breasted design with slant pockets and is fully lined. Styling tip, wear belted at the back to give a casual look and to create a slimline silhouette. If you put the coat on back to front it is much easier to tie the belt. For more formal occasions tie at the front and pull in tight to accentuate your waist. A fantastic outfit for right now! The jumper gives warmth, white jeans can be worn all year but they are the perfect choice for spring and early summer, and the short trench coat is a classic staple! Outfit 2 - Blue jeans with a houndstooth crop length jacket The classic lighter wash blue jeans, the NORVEGIEN have plenty of stretch and an easy straight style. They feel like jeggings but without the skin tight leg! And the houndstooth check of the TOLBIAC jacket is such a stunning spring colour, the blue reminds me of the clear blue skies I love. This jacket is a cropped length, sitting just on the hip, it is a boxy style with attractive buttons, in a mid weight woven fabric to keep the chill off until summer arrives. It also looks great with the white jeans. Outfit 3 - Neutral style Neutral tones are having a style moment and the MARBOZ edge-to-edge cardigan is feminine and easy to slip on, I am wearing it with the white jeans and a white t-shirt to give an off-duty weekend look. Tan accessories are always a winner and my cross-body bag gives a lovely contrast. Outfit 4 - The pussy-bow blouse For more formal looks, the pussy-bow blouse is wearable and feminine, the style dates back to the early 20th century and the bow can be tied several ways, higher neck, lower neck or left loose, I am wearing the COTONOU long and flowing tunic blouse with a half tuck into the navy blue NIOBE 7/8 length straight leg trousers with ballet flats from Vionic. And of course the trench coat over it is a sophisticated look that I loved. Outfit 5 - A colour pop pink leopard print jumper The MARSON is a pink leopard print jumper that really adds a pop of colour and sets off the light camel trench coat beautifully, worn with the blue jeans. Did you know the trench coat was originally designed by Thomas Burberry for military uniforms in WWI but soon became a must-have fashion piece, the first civilian version was introduced in 1919 and it is loved for it's functionality, durability and timeless style. And who doesn't recall Audrey Hepburn's iconic moment wearing a trench coat in the 1961 movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's"? Celebrating 70 years of Afibel with this exclusive anniversary print, the CALLAS print t-shirt is a soft, floaty, stretch style with pretty raglan sleeves. Do you have a favourite? Love from Michelle xx Disclaimer: this post is sponsored by Afibel and the styles featured were gifted to me to review, all opinions and words are my own. Pin this post for later!
