Shaving - do you or don't you? I've been shaving since I was a young teen, I probably didn't tell my mum, I think I. just nicked one of my dad's razors! But times have moved on and me and my daughter had a much more open discussion on the subject. I encouraged her to start gently with hair removal cream and then later on she chose to use razors. I wanted her to avoid the scars from over enthusiastic calf shaving with a blunt razor! In more recent years I have favoured 'sugar waxing' ouch it hurts in some sensitive places but it is gentle on my skin, lasts a bit longer, feels lovely and smooth as it is exfoliating too and I quite like a trip to the beauty salon. But I always have a razor to hand too - they are still an essential in my beauty kit. And lockdowns and closed salons has meant we are all back to at home beauty anyway! We can get subscription everything now! Razors being one of many offerings that can arrive at a frequency you choose - flowers, food boxes, toilet roll, indian spices, wine ... it is no longer just for your glossy magazine. I think they are great though, as long as there is full flexibility with being able to change, amend or cancel. Estrid is a subscription service that wants to change our shaving experience! They offer affordable, sharp and vegan friendly razors right to our mailbox. No more 'pink tax' on everyday items that are marketed just for women. natural ingredients, no animal substances, better for you and the planet. And they asked if I'd like to try them out! I received the starter pack, I chose the colour I loved, pink or officially 'Bloom' (it doesn't actually match anything but I really loved the colour)! In the starter pack you get your reusable steel handle razor, two blade cartridges and a wall holder. You choose when you want your replacement blades delivered - as often or as little as you want - and you can cancel at any time. Estrid are a Scandinavian brand and you can see this in the minimalist and cool design of their razors. Plus Estrid want to make even more difference, for every purchase made, they donate a portion to charities that support women and gender equality around the world. The Estrid razors are sensibly priced, cruelty free, are excellent quality and they are especially made for women (no need to nab from husband or dad)! I've tried lots of the main razor brands in the UK but never really found one I love, they are disposable (and they feel disposable). We need to be focusing much more on sustainable and reusing things, Estrid has got all that covered. The Estrid razor feels really high quality, it is beautifully weighted and comfortable to use. It looks good in your bathroom. The 5-blades are super-sharp but safe and they are made for the female shape so they really do glide smoothly across your skin - underarms, legs, bikini line or anywhere else! And they have soft, hydrating strips with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E to look after and nourish your skin as you shave. And if you fancy adding some extra treats to your self-care routine, then Estrid also do shaving cream, body lotion and body oil wash that you can add to your basket if you are a subscriber. I love my Estrid razor, I will be topping up on blades soon and I think a subscription for my daughter might be a good idea. So whether you shave everything every day, or just need a razor for special days or anything in-between, then do have a look at Estrid! Lots of info and subscription details on the Estrid website here. Is a razor an essential in your beauty kit?
