Last year I wrote on my blog about Wild Natural Deodorant and their kickstarter campaign, which was successful and allowed them to then spend 12 months developing a new natural deodorant that is effective, sustainable and single-use plastic free! I was asked if I would like to be one of the first 50 people to try their new product*, give them some feedback and if I liked it, do a fuller review on my blog.

I did like it but it got me thinking, why use a natural deodorant, why go to the trouble of finding one and ordering it specifically rather than just putting your usual spray anti-perspirant in your shopping trolley?

A natural deodorant is more gentle on our skin and contains less pore-clogging nasties.

Sustainable packaging

The case and refill was delivered to me in fully recyclable cardboard packaging, I did a quick video which is now on my insta-stories. It comes with detailed instructions on how to insert the refill into the case. But I have to own up, I didn't read them properly and got it wrong first time! My advice would be to look at the little video that gets sent to you! But basically you open the case at the bottom, insert the refill, twist the base to close it and you are good to go.

Effectiveness

The deodorant is a lovely creamy texture, easy to put on, easy to twist up to use and I love the scent (I have the rose blush) and I love the case, it looks pretty on my dressing table and matches my Liz Earle range and complements my Gem's Dry Skin Balm perfectly.

And it is extremely effective. Basically Wild works! I have been testing it out over the last few weeks just as the early spring sunshine arrived and temperatures went up. I have been in the gym, in the garden, sunbathing and out walking. And it stood up to all of this with flying colours.

Just a note though, it does need time to dry, if you apply it then put a black t-shirt on you will see some rub off so be careful. If I am in a hurry and am wearing a sleeveless top, I apply it after I am dressed but that isn't always possible.

Natural ingredients

Wild Natural Deodorant contains a carefully selected blend of essential oils and moisturising natural oils which doesn't mean that much to me, but basically they have taken a lot of care to only use premium natural ingredients. Wild refills are easy to insert if you follow the instructions (tip: watch the video they send you).

Wild was founded by Charlie and Freddy, who have known each other all their lives and have dreamt of starting their own business together. They have been inspired by the fight against single use plastic and the growing move towards using natural ingredients. Freddy was previously Marketing Director at Hello Fresh and Charlie made a successful exit from his reusable coffee cup company. What are you all up to this week?! Sadly the sun seems to be disappearing for a week or two and more normal spring weather is resuming. But at least that means I might get some jobs done inside. I have been so keen to be outside and enjoying the warm weather, my pile of ironing has grown massively and my housework needs a bit of attention. My garden does look the tidiest it has ever been though, my husband has washed the patio, weeded very thoroughly and been painting the external woodwork.
