Hello, how are you? Is this very gradual easing of lockdown going well for you? I feel quite safe in my little area of leafy Buckinghamshire so I am not too stressed about it, I am however quite pleased we can start venturing out a bit more. I've not made any major changes, but I have organised to meet with a couple of girlfriends next week, two separate walks, socially distanced, but an opportunity for a catch-up. And I have ordered face masks! I'm a bit behind with my blog schedule and kinda felt there was no pressure to post, But I thought today I'd pop up with a bit of a summary what home beauty treatments I am using during lockdown. With no definite date for the re-opening of salons, the challenge with our roots continues! Who else is missing their hairdresser, their nail technician, their beautician?! I had my nails done just before lockdown but the gel on my hands was off 3 weeks later although my feet made it to about 7 weeks! And my hair! It so needs a colour now and it is getting bigger and more and more in need of a good trim. Don't zoom in too close on my photos please! This is what I am using at home .... Manicure - I have Jessica Critical Care and Brilliance from Sunrise in Marlow so I am simply filing my nails, keeping them short, using lots of hand cream and putting these two treatments on a couple of times a week. In fact to make life easy I am using the same cream I use on my feet, the Feet Treat from B-Line Beauty (gifted). I guess it is good to give them a break from gel although there is a misconception that gel is bad for our nails but my understanding is that this isn't necessarily true, the only important thing to remember is to soak the gel off properly, don't peel it off yourself and use a reputable salon that doesn't over-buff the nail. I go to No 21 Beauty Within in Lane End. Pedicure - Pretty much exactly the same as my hands! I wrote about a home pedicure on my blog post here, I am using the Jessica treatments and the creams and treatments from B-Line Beauty. I think I will add a colour this weekend. Normal nail polish doesn't last on my hands but it does on my feet, right must ask my daughter to do that for me! Self-Tan - I am still keeping a tan on, I usually start with faking it as soon as the sun appears and this year is no different, I may be at home but I still like to look and feel good when I am wearing summer dresses or shorts. I have used St Moriz products for years and still think they are the best value for money. My blog post here tells you a bit more and I have shared a few self-tanning tips. Grey Roots - Well not a lot I can do, I did try the root touch-up from Clairol but it didn't last very long. I am currently using the Josh Wood Blending Brush in Darker Blonde and although you have to reapply every 2-3 washes it is very easy and seems to be doing a good enough job. I tried applying it to dry hair but then it needs to be dried off so now I apply when my hair is wet, I just brush onto my parting. Then dry as normal with my hair dryer. Workouts - I have slacked a bit (again)! I can give you a list of excuses but they are just excuses, if I really wanted to do a workout then I would. But for now I am not planning on beating myself up about it. I am getting out for regular walks in the woods though! I am still eating well, but wine intake is up! Must address that! Hair Removal - I am also really missing seeing Lucie at L&A Evolution in Maidenhead for my regular body sugaring hair removal appointment! Instead I am shaving or using Jolen Creme Bleach which is really effective on the face or small areas. However I do seem to miss patches on my legs with shaving! I can't see properly, that's my excuse. I saw some influencers promoting the epilator recently but unless there is a new pain free method I am not too keen on going down this route, what do you do? I do really encourage you to get up, get dressed, make-up on and dress-up a bit though. It makes you feel so much better, if I didn't do that, I'd have spent the last 22 years at home feeling pretty rubbish about myself. I always work on the principle that someone might knock on the door or I might need to pop out and I want to feel ready plus I like to know I look good, for me and my family!
And how about a beauty box to help with the self-care at home? Self-Care Sundays Box is launching soon, read more here. This sunny yellow blouse is from Cream and available from The Wendy House*, it is a really sheer, floaty fabric, best to wear with a camisole or a suitable bra, I love the frill on the neckline, the detail on the cuffs and the ties. I am wearing it with previous season wide leg jeans from Boden and also previous season, silver mules from Vionic. Great Zoom meeting blouse! * Wendy is working really hard on getting her new website up and running, for now if you see anything you like then do message her via facebook. Personal recommendation, I am not being paid to share details. Stay safe, stay alert and I think the news is encouraging and we might be getting back to something near normal soon. Here's hoping! Love from Michelle xx Disclaimer: Some of the products I mention in this post were previously gifted, I do not use affiliate links.

That's a really lovely blouse, its not a colour I have ever worn but it really suits you. Your hair looks just fine, don't worry and thanks for the tip on the colouring. Root touch up just doesn't work on my grey roots, I use L'oreal Marijel which is a salon strength dye. I do get my hair done all over a few times a year at the salon and do my roots in between....sadly the roots come in so quick now and my hair grows too fast !!! Will look at Josh Wood as it could be a great product for in between colouring. I don't really have any beauty treatments, I do miss the chiropodist though (not that I have any foot issues !). I have just treat myself to a face mask and a moisture foot mask ....not something I normally buy to be honest - but I feel the need of some treats !!! You never know Michelle I might even book some sort of treatment when this is all over. Take care xx

Book a treatment and treat yourself Karen! I have not worn yellow for years, this is a really soft yellow and I suppose such a lovely style it suits me, thank you. Yes I am very happy with the Josh Wood one but I have not heard of the L'Oreal one you mention, I will look that up, oh they joys of getting older! Michelle xx

I love that fab yellow top! Snap with the Vionic silver loafers - they go with everything don't they? I'm missing the hairdresser but perversely I'm enjoying seeing the roots come through, I didn't know what colour they would be. I hardly ever go to a beautician and never have my nails done so I'm a bit low maintenance, which would surprise my husband! I always use home treatments. Thanks for joining #WowOnWednesday.
