One of my indulgences is to get a regular manicure and pedicure at my local salon, No 21 Beauty Within. I love chatting with my nail technician Jane and of course I like to keep my hands, feet and nails in good condition and looking gorgeous. I get bio-sculpture gel nails every 2-3 weeks and then I have a pedicure and again bio-sculpture applied every couple of months. My favourite nail colour is red! But like the rest of the UK (and most of the world) I can't go to my salon at the moment as it is closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. I did get my nails done before lockdown so I am good for another week I hope! Recently B-Line Beauty got in touch to ask if I would like to try out some of their feet treatments (gifted*), I agreed the timing was perfect and an 'at home pedicure' would be very welcome. Annette Foley-Craigen is the Founder of B-Line Beauty and she says "Footcare is an investment in overall health and wellbeing and maintaining good foot health is vital, for men and women." Annette founded B-Line Beauty in 1989 and they celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2019. B-Line started as a professional brand with an initial focus on footcare and they were the first company to use Tea Tree Oil in a product range. They were also the first company to promote footcare in a luxurious, fashionable and contemporary way. B-Line has since expanded into beauty and hand care for both men and women. They are very proud of their eco-credentials and were the first independent beauty brand in the UK to stop using plastic micro-beads. All their products are vegan friendly, paraben free and diabetic safe. So what did I get to try out? You can also see my video review on Instagram stories. The footcare range is designed to pamper and protect and uses the natural qualities of tea tree and lavender plus other plant based ingredients. The packaging is simple and clean and they offer their range in travel sizes as well (for when we are able to travel again). My footcare treats arrived in fully recyclable packaging and if you were giving some products as a gift then you could easily use the packaging, it was really pretty (see my photos above). I was also treated to a lavender pouch and a chocolate. They offer a Deluxe Footcare Kit with some of their essential products which makes a good starter kit or gift. Erase Hard Skin Spray and Double Site Foot Rasp - for hard, dry, callused skin and cracked heels. I started my pedicure with this, you simply spray it onto your feet then use the foot rasp to remove and smooth hard skin. Very easy and leaves the foot feeling really soft. Heel Appeal - this is a penetrating urea based softening cream for visibly sore, cracked heels and I applied after using Erase. Foot Spray - to refresh, cool and deodorise, it will also provide relief for hot, swollen ankles (and is ideal for long haul flights). And Annette tells me that the foot spray is also a good anti-bac spray - might be useful! Great for daily use during the summer months. I also received a Pumice Stone to exfoliate after using Erase or for very rough areas, it would be best to use the Foot Rasp. Feet Treat - is a cream to maintain healthy and comfortable feet. I have the travel size pump and a larger pot. I am now using this daily and it is very soft and soothing with a really gentle scent of tea tree. Fascinating foot facts ... feet walk an average 70,000 miles in a lifetime - almost four times around the globe ... and over 70,000 nerve endings make the foot a sensitive, sensuous and for many, an erogenous zone!
Me? Well I have very ticklish feet!! But for many many years I didn't get a pedicure as I had a (often painful) verrucae (or planters wart) that I got when I was about 19 ... and it took me another 30 years to get rid of it! I tried everything and I was always so embarrassed by it. Eventually I got dry skin needling (at Maidenhead Podiatry) and I thought it hadn't worked then 3 months later it just disappeared, pretty much overnight. So while you are stuck at home, make sure to include a bit more self-care into your routine, take time out to look after yourself and your feet and even if you are not a regular at the salon for a pedicure, it is still a good time to 'release your winter feet' and indulge in an 'at home pedicure'. You can find details of all these feet treats - and a few more - online at B-Line Beauty. B-Line Beauty are offering 20% off their full range for the whole of April, use code BLE2020 at checkout. Love from Michelle xx Disclaimer: I was gifted* a box of feet treats from B-Line Beauty and asked if I would like to do a review for my blog and instagram. All opinions are entirely my own.

i know what you mean, I used to enjoy doing my own pedicures. but haven't for ages, life seems so busy that an escape to the salon is a welcome break. But these products arrived at the perfect time! Michelle x

I don't wear nail polish during the winter to let my toenails recover, so around this time of year I'll be buying a new shade and doing my own pedicure. I don't like salon pedicures very much - I'd like to sit quietly and enjoy it but you always feel obliged to chat! Interesting products Michelle. Thanks for joining #WowOnWednesday.

You've done a great job and I bet your feet felt like bliss! I've done mine, but not a very good job at all - really missing not going to the salon and can't wait to get back to normal. Stay safe and well Michelle. x

Thank you Jacqui, I do enlist the help of my daughter, she has a much steadier hand than I do these days! Hope you are coping okay, love Michelle xx
