This is such a beautiful and inspirational brand offering the softest organic cotton underwear, it is difficult to know where to start with telling you about Y.O.U Underwear! Their founder Sarah was volunteering in Uganda and was shocked to find that women and children were lacking something we all take for granted - underwear. So she started a business, Y.O.U Underwear was created and her mission is to change the world, one pair of pants at a time! They operate a 'buy-one-give-two' model and support menstrual hygiene projects as well as helping to increase access to education and employment for vulnerable women and girls. That's the simple story but there is so much more to their sustainable credentials that you need to dig deeper. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Y.O.U Underwear are supporting breast cancer charity FUTURE DREAMS as well as championing the importance of regular breast self-examination. I'd love you to read on and find out more ... This is a gifted blog post. Breast Cancer Awareness MonthPink and the pink ribbon is now synonymous with breast cancer awareness and this year Y.O.U. Underwear have launched a pretty light pink range of their comfortable organic cotton underwear in a special collaboration with Future Dreams and £1 from every pair of underwear sold from the pink range will be donated to the charity. Everyone needs help after a breast cancer diagnosis. Future Dreams Breast Cancer Charity offers practical and emotional support as well as funding vital research and promoting breast awareness. Future Dreams was started in 2008 by mother and daughter Sylvie Henry and Danielle Leslie. By a cruel twist of fate, they were both diagnosed with Breast Cancer, Danielle just 35 and a mother of 3 young children. Tragically both women lost their lives to the disease within a year of each other in 2009. Future Dreams Pink Collection from Y.O.U UnderwearFeaturing a delicate, soft shade of pink that will suit any skin tone, the Y.O.U Underwear Future Dreams pink collection is comfortable and practical as well as pretty and it comes in mix and match options of boy shorts, bikini pants or a thong. And you can add a matching organic bralette too - and you know I insist on a matching set! I chose the low-rise bikini bottoms to try out and of course I had to have the matching bralette too. They arrive in a reusable organic cotton bag, each pair has an inspiring message printed into them, and there are no annoying labels to irritate you. They are made from an organic cotton with a little elastane to make them super comfortable and a perfect fit. The bralette is a non-wired pullover style with adjustable straps that can also be worn in a cross-over style. The bralette is ideal for smaller cup sizes and provides light support. The importance of 'checking your breasts'Early diagnosis could mean a better chance of successful treatment - and remember breast cancer can affect ANY BODY and at ANY AGE. So get into the habit of checking regularly and remind your sons, daughters and husbands as well. The younger you create a habit the better. You may have seen my Instagram post last week, CoppaFeel and Skinny Tan have collaborated with a campaign aimed at the young as well as the older generations. Their Tits and Tanning Thursday initiative is an excellent way to tag a new habit onto an existing habit. Regular self-care and regular self-awareness combined. And they are also donating £1 from every CoppaFeel! Strawberry Bundle sold. A reminder of what we are checking for when we check our breasts ...
On its own, pain in your breasts is not usually a sign of breast cancer. But look out for pain in your breast or armpit that’s there all or almost all the time. Although rare, men can get breast cancer. The most common symptom of breast cancer in men is a lump in the chest area. Source: Breast Cancer Now Ethical Underwear from Y.O.U UnderwearDid you know there are over 20 different styles of knickers for women!? Which do you prefer?
