A lighthearted and positive post to lift our spirits in a never-ending lockdown (although I spy better news coming)! Last week on instagram I shared some of my simple pleasures and asked you for yours, so today I am sharing more ... make a cup of tea, grab a biscuit and enjoy some simple pleasures! And share yours in the comments below! Plus it is my '5th blog anniversary' this week. My first post was on 20th February 2016 and I cringe a bit now when I look back as I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, not sure I know much more now! But I think generally I have improved. I've kept my blog the same, not given it a facelift as actually I like it and it is easy for me to use and set up and I hope easy for you to find blog posts you are interested in. But do get in touch if you have any feedback for me. My main focus is to enjoy my blog, writing is my hobby, I am always delighted if a brand finds me but it isn't my sole aim, really I just like to help others. I've had a few messages recently asking about menopause, I am always happy to help with general questions and see if I can point you in the right direction. Simple pleasures .... .A clear blue sky. Walking in my woods. The sun shining through my windows. Relaxing on holiday. Waking up from a good sleep. A perfect cup of tea. A hot bath with lots of bubbles. A day on the beach. Chats with a friend. A unexpected text message. A good hair day. The perfectly chilled glass of wine. Walking in London. A favourite song on the radio. A sunrise, a sunset. A full moon. Laughter. A lunch date on a warm day. Fresh flowers. And some from my friends on Instagram ... Wearing a favourite dress (Vintage & Vogue, Beaconsfield). Sitting reading in the conservatory with a mug of hot chocolate and wrapped up in a throw (Jools). Walking our gorgeous doggy in 2 feet of virgin snow (Highlands of Scotland). A picnic by the river on a warm day (Karen). Sitting in a cosy pub in the Lake District (Karen). Sometimes, in fact more often than not, it is the simple things in life that brings us the most pleasure. Don't overlook the little things. The pandemic of 2020/21 has taught us that slowing down does have its benefits, even if we'd rather not have had to slow down quite as much for quite as long! See my post here - finding the positives of staying at home during the Covid-19 pandemic - written just as lockdown1 started in March 2020 - there were positives! I'd love hear a few more, share in the comments below. I've been slowly sorting out my spring wardrobe, well early spring, but it has felt good to add in some colour and refresh things a bit. And you know what .... and I will dare to be honest, I'd really really like to go out, proper out out, I'd love to get dressed up, walk through London, meet up with my girlfriends, have a few drinks. And I'd love to go into the shops and touch and feel the fabric, hold the clothes and consider the shape, try things on properly in a changing room and only bring one size home! My jumper is the Pure Merino Wool V Neck Relaxed Jumper from Marks & Spencer (current season) and at only £29.50 it was an easy way to inject some colour and dream of blue skies! Love from Michelle xx I link up with: Is This Mutton #WowOnWednesday Mummabstylish #Chic&Stylish What is a link-up? It is a way to connect with other bloggers and share content and hopefully for me to be found by others and for my followers to discover new blogs!

It certainly is the simple pleasures at the moment - making the days better. I bumped into an old friend on my daily walk and we both agreed - the good habits, such as getting outside daily and walking is something to take forward beyond June. Happy blogversary! My blog is just over two years old now and I’ve still such a lot to learn. xx

Hi, thank you and yes I agree, we need to at least learn something from the last year! Haha, learning how to blog and cope with social media is an ongoing challenge, some days I do wonder why I started then I remind myself it is good to exercise my brain! Michelle xx
