Review | Cotton Harem Pants

Who doesn't love something soft, comfortable and loose to wear especially on hot summer days?  But with my increasing interest in a more sustainable approach to my wardrobe, I was also interested to read about this fair trade and eco-friendly business, Hippie Pants.  Their products are designed and handmade in Thailand by local artisans then shipped direct to the customer.  The company was founded in 2015 by a group of friends who love travelling, love Thailand and love harem pants and yoga pants.

They asked if I would like to try out a pair of their cotton ocean pants!  I am not into yoga (I have tried) but I do love a pair of comfortable trousers I can wear around the house on down days and evenings, I don't do pyjama's so I like to search out alternatives.

Ocean pants from Hippie Pants details below and white vest top from Gap

The ocean pants are made from 100% cotton and have an elasticated waist at the back only, I love the detail on the front panel and the distinctive pocket feature.  They are one size but are generous.  However, Hippie Pants also offer some styles in plus-size.

I love the relaxed boho vibe of these pants.  Style with a white t-shirt tied at the waist or a vest top tucked in (mine is from Gap).  Wear with a bikini top on holiday or a denim jacket if out and and about in the UK.

Pebbles is our elderly Siamese cat and she was determined to join in with the photos yesterday!

So what about their fair trade credentials?  Well they guarantee that no one under the age of 18 is involved in the production of their products, they provide equality for both men and women in the workplace, they pay a fair wage to all their workers well above the national minimum wage, they prepay their suppliers so they do not have to go into debt to buy materials and they keep tradition alive by using local traditions and make all their products locally.

And all their clothes are produced using cotton or bamboo rayon making them vegan friendly and bio-degradable.

Their ethos is to inspire a stress-free lifestyle through the comfort and lightness of their clothes - bringing a new feel to your wardrobe and a new calm to your day.

And the best thing?  These harem pants are a really good price point.  Starting at £24 per pair with no postage costs - everything is sent directly from the supplier to you.

Another photo bomb from Pebbles!

The ocean pants are available to purchase from Hippie Pants online here and they cost £24.00 (free postage) and arrive very promptly.

Disclaimer: I was gifted a pair of ocean pants from Hippie Pants and asked if I would like to share an image on my instagram.  The decision to write a full review on my blog was mine and I was under no obligation to do so.  This post does not contain affiliate links.

Stylish harem pants and great to hear about their ethical credentials. People are really starting to take notice of this now. Shame about yoga - I prefer certain types of yoga to others, and you may not have yet found a teacher whose style you like.

I love how you style the pants and the pattern is really pretty. Not sure I could pull these off but they look great on you!
