Choose a gift that matters, make memories and share your special moments with those you love21/2/2022 With Mother's Day approaching in the UK - it is on Sunday 27th March if you were wondering - it is time to start thinking about the perfect way to celebrate or treat a special person in your life with a sentimental and unique gift! One of my mum's favourite things to say to us was 'make memories together' and that has become even more poignant in recent years. I have a lovely book she bought me in 2005, called 'My Mother Said' and it is full of words of wit and wisdom and quotes about mothers and daughters. She wrote inside it and pointed me to Page 58 'There's always time to go shopping.' When I visit her nowadays I will often take a photo book with me and although her dementia limits most of her cognition, she still loves looking at our memories together. With my dad having worked in the photographic trade his entire career, photographs have always featured strongly in our family, my parents met in 1963 when they were both working at Wallace Heaton in New Bond Street (Wallace Heaton suppled the royal family with their cameras). Rosemood is an established French atelier, now available in the UK, who specialise in beautiful personalised stationery, invitations, photo books, photo prints and notebooks. Their stationery is high end, high quality and sensibly priced and they have a beautiful selection of contemporary designs to adapt and make your own, including wedding invitations and baby announcements. I am delighted to be collaborating with Rosemood on this blog post and sharing more about their products and making some lovely suggestions for special gifts. This is a sponsored blog post. I was converted to personalised photo books many years ago, I love how you can get creative with your best photos and design page after page using your favourite memories and make a gorgeous photo collage, adding your own text and stories. A beautiful photo book takes up less storage space, and also looks attractive on a shelf or coffee table. I have created photo books after so many memorable occasions, my parents 50th wedding anniversary, our trip to Sri Lanka, weekends away in Kalkan, Paris and Edinburgh (for example), both my children's school proms, my 50th birthday, 18th and 21st birthdays, and many many more. Read on to find out how I got on using the personalised photo gift service from Rosemood Atelier ... and I have a discount code for you so you can make your own special gift, I'm so excited to share this one with you! Creating a photo gift that means so much isn't as time-consuming as you think. You will need to put aside a couple of hours maximum and get yourself organised beforehand, make a cup of tea or coffee, sort your favourite memories into an album on your phone or computer and settle down on a rainy Saturday afternoon to make your own custom journal of your special occasion. About Rosemood AtelierEstablished in 2010 by three entrepreneurial young parents, they couldn't find the perfect baby announcements, so they decided to create their own. They expanded to add a whole range of personalised stationery and now employ 110 men and women across three countries, France, Germany and the UK. Their stationery is designed to celebrate life's happiest moments and help customers celebrate and immortalise their greatest memories. They are proud to go above and beyond and offer amazing customer service with the ability to add in proof reading to ensure you don't make any silly typing mistakes! All their products are sophisticated and on-trend. Their head designer learned her skills in visual merchandising at Dior and it shows, their products are premium quality. Every item is carefully designed to make sure the format works, that the paper will create the best print quality and their finishing touches are far superior to any others I have used, they are designed to last. What is an Atelier? Pronounced “ah-TEL-ee-yay”, the word atelier is a French term meaning "workshop" or "artist’s studio". And doesn't it sound just so seductive and beautiful? My order from RosemoodI was absolutely delighted to be able to create two softcover photo books, a personalised hardback notebook for myself and one for my daughter, as well as three premium photo prints. The whole process was a delight and easy to understand from start to finish. The delivery process was efficient and my order arrived beautifully packaged, protected and ready to gift or enjoy. I will be taking my photo books with my when I next visit my mum. How to create your own personalised stationery from RosemoodIt really is so easy, first of all take some time to have a browse through their website and get some gift ideas. Each product is clearly sectioned into different options with an approximate budget. I have often found with other photo book printers, the price keeps rising with every page you need to add. Rosemood have this covered and each template has plenty of space for your photographs. Photo books Choose from soft cover photo books, hardcover photo books, fabric photo books with a beautiful foil stamped title, lay flat photo books or fabric photo books with a debossed cover photo. I chose two soft cover photo books, prices start at £18 for a small, square design but they come in small, medium and large with square, landscape or portrait options, and you can have from 26 pages up to 200 pages. You can also order identical additional copies of your photo books with a discount of between 10% and 25% depending on the style chosen. My two photo books celebrated my blogging highlights in 2021 and our holiday in Cornwall in July 2021. I chose the 'magazine' style. First step is to download all the photos you want to include (see above pics) then you can either let the Rosemood software fill the photo book for you - or you can do it yourself. I chose to do it myself and it is really easy to just literally click and drop each photo into place. They offer lots of different page layouts from one photo to a page through to multiple collage layouts. It is also easy to swap photos around and play around with the layout. You can also switch to 'unused photos' view to make sure you have included every one you want. Then have fun adding your text. You can include quotes, or memorable moments, little things you shared that create emotion, or highlight the things that make your mum special. My sister-in-law loves the photo books her children make for her every year, they both pull together a 'year book' of the best photos of her grandchildren and she is building a set of wonderful memories and enjoys showing her friends and family, her 'grandparents boasting book'! Personalised Notebooks Next I designed two personalised notebooks, one for myself to use as a journal and one for my daughter. I chose the Fabric Hardback Notebooks, they come in four colour options and have your own photograph embossed on the front with your chosen text. I added a favourite quote to ours. The quality is amazing, they have 142 pages and you can choose from lined, squared, dots or blank pages. Rosemood offer a 15% discount on identical copies ordered at the same time. Every little detail has been considered and perfected, with beautiful traditional sewn binding. A notebook you will not be embarrassed to display in your home, use it to journal, for recipes, to do lists, scrapbooking or as a bullet journal. My daughter is amazing at scrapbooking! Photo prints The final part of my Rosemood order was for some photo prints. I have a large framed print of myself and my daughter in my conservatory that has unfortunately got damaged over time (chips in frame and discolouration) and I wanted to replace it. I also ordered some further prints to display around my home. Rosemood have two options, either premium photo prints or premium thick photo prints. The double-thickness prints do not need a frame, they look perfect just leaning up against a wall or an object. Rosemood offer lots of formats including collages to create a striking, modern and elegant display in your home. Invitations and cards Rosemood have a huge selection of personalised invitations and cards. For weddings. new baby announcements, christenings, communions, birthdays and many many more. And so many personalisation options too. Thank you cards or baby photo books, how different it is now to when Alex and Emily were young! Rosemood also offer personalised calendars and posters, do take a look around their website to get loads of ideas! Full design review and proofreading serviceI love that Rosemood offer a full design review for no additional charge. They will proofread your order and correct any text, they guarantee to find all spelling errors and typos and check the quality of your photos and suggest any changes. They can read up to 500 words and retouch any photos too but note that this service means your order will take a little longer to arrive so if you are on a deadline, you may want to order in plenty of time, or deselect this option. A little reminder about VATI got caught out when I placed my order, which was probably me not paying attention and the fact I was using a voucher code which confused me, but I thought therefore it was worth mentioning the changes for VAT on orders shipping from Europe. For orders under £135 there is no VAT to pay. For orders over £135 you will receive a 20% VAT reduction on the total price of your order, but you will, however, be required to pay the VAT directly to HM Revenues & Customs when your parcel arrives in the UK. You will also be required to pay a £12 customs handling fee. For more details and for order value over £873 please refer to the Rosemood delivery and custom information. I am so delighted with my gorgeous order from Rosemood, I have loved this blog collaboration, the photo books and prints will be treasured forever. I can't wait to start using my journal too! To create your own thoughtful gift with Rosemood, please use my special discount code, FIFTYFAB10 will give you 10% off orders for photo books, notebooks, photo prints and posters. This discount code is valid until 31st March 2022. To ensure delivery for Mother's Day on 27th March, Rosemood recommend ordering before 16th March at the latest. What wonderful ideas for gifting to someone special, a gift that matters, that evokes beautiful memories. The notebook I ordered for my daughter, I sneaked into her suitcase so it was a surprise when she arrived at her placement in London. She said, mum how do you always manage to put a treat in my suitcase without me noticing!? Haha that's because mum's have magical skills! And she will remember that always. Making memories and recording those memories has become even more important to me since my own's mum's diagnosis. Treasure them. Love from Michelle xx Disclaimer: this blog post is part of a paid collaboration with Rosemood, however all words, views and opinions are my own.
