Another year and another fabulous fun girls weekend away! This year we stayed in a gorgeous house at the Cotswold Water Park. The weather forecast was pretty cloudy and some rain but in fact it was warm and sunny most of the weekend. We always book somewhere with a hot tub and this year we upgraded to four bedrooms - we decided the days of twin bedrooms and bunk beds were behind us so we upped the budget and found this lovely house. However, shock horror on Friday they called me to say the hot tub wasn't working. Really wasn't impressed at all although completely realise it is out of their control, these things happen. It was looking very dodgy as to whether it would get fixed or not but fortunately the part arrived and we had a working hot tub for Sunday. Which considering we arrived Friday evening it was pretty disappointing. I have to say that a hot tub and girls weekend do go very well together and gives a lovely focus for the relaxing type of weekend we love. Friday was my daughter's prom and due to a mix up with dates at school it ended up clashing with my weekend away. Now I would never not be there for her prom so I was with her all day for the prep and saw her into the prom and at 7.45 then got in my car and whizzed up to the Cotswolds to join my friends. My post about the prom is here. I wore a lovely outfit from Hobbs (see my post here). Most of the weekend was spent in swimsuits or comfortable clothes ... Saturday afternoon we spent a the spa and I had a relaxing aromatherapy massage. Sunday was spent on our deck looking at the lovely view of the lake and enjoying the hot tub. Perfect view of the lake! Great location for a holiday with kids as so many water sports to enjoy. My swimsuit is the Santorini from Boden - this colourway is no longer available but there are lots of others and they are now in the sale - take a look here. This is my gorgeous friend whose style I always admire and love to see what she is wearing and get inspiration from her. This weekend I loved her oversized shirt / beach cover-up but I have been unable to trace it, she purchased it from a small boutique last year so I guess I will just have to hope I come across something similar one day. Here we are proving it is possible to be Fifty & Fab! I've known these lovely girls for nearly 30 years and I think we wear pretty well! Sunday evening at the pub and I am wearing navy Frame jeans and a stripe linen jumper and scarf from Mint Velvet So all pretty lazy, not much attention given to diet or exercise and now with less than two weeks until my holiday I am needing to focus a bit.
Love Michelle xx
