I am absolutely delighted to be working with Elizabeth Rose, a beautiful independent fashion boutique, with a High Street store in the pretty Kent town of Tenterden and also with a fabulous online shop. Elizabeth Rose stock some of my favourite brands including Aspiga, Gabor, Indi & Cold and Paige Jeans. I met co-owner Helen on Instagram back in 2019 when I entered a giveaway she was running, won a voucher and decided to visit in person as I often go back to Kent. I grew up nearby, but a pandemic delayed things a bit! More on that later, but the most important bit is that I am so excited to be running my biggest blog giveaway yet and giving my readers a chance to win a very generous amount to spend on their AW22 wardrobe! Honestly Helen has the best taste in fashion, completely understands her customers and offers style consultations if you need help finding a special outfit or just want to upgrade your everyday look. I've loved getting to know Helen and see the Elizabeth Rose Instagram blossoming, all their posts are relatable, genuine and helpful, nothing too fast moving or gimmicky and with some fabulous outfit ideas, do follow them! The giveaway is running from Thursday 6th October until Friday 4th November 2022 and vouchers can be spent online or in-store. For giveaway rules please scroll to end of post. To find out more about Elizabeth Rose and the fabulous brands you could spend your gift vouchers on if you are the lucky winner, keep reading ... This is a gifted blog post. Elizabeth Rose, an award winning fashion boutiqueElizabeth Rose is situated in the gorgeous Kentish town of Tenterden, it is housed in a stunning Georgian building and is like a tardis inside! The shop is spread out over two floors, it is bright and welcoming and the stylists that work with Helen in the shop are ready to look after you but not too in your face. You are welcome to just browse or ask for help and advice. Elizabeth Rose is very much a family business - now owned and run by Helen and her brother Michael. I met Helen in person when I was staying at an amazing beachfront airbnb near Dungeness a few months ago and she told me more about the early days of Elizabeth Rose. In 1979 Helen's mother Rosemarie decided to start her own business and opened her first shop in Tenterden. Her mother (Helen's grandmother) relocated from her home in Henley-on-Thames to help her and even lived 'over the shop' for a while! Helen joined the business in 1994 following a successful career working in PR, then in 1997 they were joined by Helen's brother, Michael. In 2009 Elizabeth Rose celebrated 30 years in business and it was also the year that Rosemarie made the decision to retire. But she knew ER would be in good hands and Helen and Michael have continued to grow and develop the business adding a new website in 2017 and embracing the world of social media! No one expected the pandemic in 2020 but thank goodness for technology and the ability of so many small businesses being able to pivot their sales to online and create new opportunities. Having previously focused more on fashion for over 50 ladies, Helen has enjoyed finding new contemporary brands to stock and welcoming new customers with a keen eye for the latest fashions as she believes fashion is ageless and after all we are all dressing younger. However, she still very much believes in supporting her loyal and existing customers some of which have been shopping at Elizabeth Rose since Rosemarie was in charge. Supporting small, independent businessesThere are so many fashion brands out there that we don't ever find out about if we just rely on the big High Street chains. In recent years I have adapted my shopping habits and much prefer to visit my local towns and smaller independent shops. Not only do they get to know you, but they also offer a lot more choice, and how much nicer is it to know you are not buying something made for the millions but have a more individual outfit that you won't see on every other person at a function? Elizabeth Rose stock a vast selection of high quality, high ends brands, there's my personal favourites Aspiga, Indi & Cold and Gabor but also Brax, Shoe the Bear, Essentiel Antwerp, Lolly's Laundry, Dea Kudibal .... and many many more! When I found out they were were now an Aspiga stockist I was even more excited to visit! I love Aspiga and was lucky enough to be invited to a press day in Chelsea in 2019. But it is a brand I prefer to choose in person, their dresses can be quite long and being petite I need a midi or shorter length. To be able to browse and get Helen's input was much more enjoyable than several trips to the Post Office to make returns. Now Helen has met me and knows what I like and don't like, I can ask her advice over DM on Instagram and she has helped me out with a few outfits! When I stayed in Kent with my daughter back in July, I went to see Helen and I tried on an Aspiga skirt, didn't buy it, and of course regretted it. I messaged Helen she posted it to me and then I ordered the matching top direct from Aspiga (who had sold out of the skirt - and Helen didn't have the top)! So it is worth searching around if you see something you love but there isn't stock available on the brand website, often their smaller stockists will be able to help you! An AW22 outfit from Elizabeth RoseSo to showcase what you might like to spend your £300 vouchers on if you are the lucky winner of my blog giveaway, I chose an outfit to share with you and feature on my blog post. However, the lucky winner can spend their vouchers on anything they choose of course! Aspiga dress - the Aspiga 'Jessica' Floral Print Satin Shirt Dress is one of Aspiga's new designs launched this season, it is a shirt dress style, with buttons to below the waist, it has a lovely grosgrain ribbon tie belt and is made from soft, silky Tencel. And it has pockets! Gabor boots - these are the Gabor 'Best Fitting' Suede Ankle Boots in Desert and fit and comfort really is the best! Stylish and chic, I love the ribbon style lace and the side zip, I think these are going to be my go to boot this season. The chunky sole also gives me a bit of extra lift, always useful when you are just 5'2". Bonendis handbag - this beautiful blue suede handbag is just perfect for day to night and the style I chose comes with a 'grab handle' chain as well as a coordinating crossbody strap. Caroline Svedbom jewellery - I am wearing a selection of the most exquisite Caroline Svedbom handmade jewellery. Each piece is unique and is made in Greece from the highest quality materials including Swarovski crystals, pearls and glass stones. The blue ring is easily adjustable and so sparkly, I love it! The jewellery is on PR loan to me. I am planning on styling this dress a few different ways on Instagram over the coming weeks, I think it can easily dress up for a special occasion, it could glam up a bit for an evening out and it can also be worn casually with trainers or different boots. If you follow the Elizabeth Rose Instagram account you can see how Helen shares lots of different styling ideas as well as different shapes and sizes, Helen is tall but her assistant Holly is petite! I am looking forward to using the handbag and boots with different outfits! My son took my photographs for me, we had a wander by the River Thames at Marlow and through the churchyard at All Saints Church. Behind me is Marlow Bridge and the Compleat Angler Hotel. Such a beautiful autumn day and dramatic sky which matched the colours in my Aspiga dress perfectly. Then we had a drink at the pub! Do make sure you join in my giveaway, not only does it support me and my blog but you are also supporting a fantastic small business and you might be the lucky one to win £300 worth of vouchers! You have to be in it to win it! What would you choose if you are the lucky winner?
