Essential oils diffuser | Discover 'Smellacloud' diffusers ... and a great Christmas gift26/11/2020 Have you ever used an essential oils diffuser in your home? They have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity and especially as they are completely natural. I love using aromatherapy for the relaxing scents and therapeutic benefits. I have a small aroma diffuser I use in my bedroom but I don't bother with moving it downstairs. So when Smellacloud got in touch to ask if I would like to try one of their diffusers and choose some essential oils, I was delighted to have a second one for my kitchen and conservatory area or I might use it more in my study. An aroma diffuser uses the essence of natural oils to release a relaxing scent into your home. You can choose a specific oil or blend oils to create your perfect scent to uplift, invigorate, sooth or calm ... whatever you need. A diffuser will release the aroma of the essential oil into the air to be inhaled and easily absorbed by the body. And evaporating essential oils is an easy way to remove unwanted smells from the kitchen. Chemical-free with a pleasant scent that will purify as well as help kill bacteria and fungus. Also a lovely way to create an ambience to suit the season, choose cinnamon, sweet orange, frankincense and myrrh or nutmeg for the approaching Christmas holidays. Whilst essential oils will not completely eliminate germs and virus particles they will reduce the microbes in the room. For this reason and given the ongoing Covid-19 situation, I chose Tea Tree Oil and Lavender for their anti-bacterial properties as well as the relaxing scent of lavender which I love for evenings and bedtime. The aroma diffusers available from Smellacloud use ultrasonic diffusion. You fill your diffuser with water and add a few drops of your chosen oil on top. The oil sits on the surface of the water and when switched on the ultrasonic plate located at the bottom creates vibrations to produce sound waves at an ultrasonic frequency, you cannot hear it, just the calming gentle bubbling of the water. The 'aroma mist' is then diffused out of the top of the diffuser and disperses into the room. The essential oil is trapped in the water droplets which can then be absorbed into your body. The diffusers and oils make a lovely gift - for yourself or a loved one. Longer lasting and safer than a candle and with the added health benefits of the essential oils. The diffuser is also a fantastic humidifier for your home, adding moisture back into the air, it has the benefit of keeping your home smelling fresh while maintaining a healthy humidity level. Good humidity can help with dry skin, itchy eyes, sore throat, trouble breathing, headaches and generally feeling a bit stuffy and miserable. I was sent two oils from Smellacloud to try with my Unity Diffuser in Light Wood: Lavender I chose lavender because it is one of my favourite oils for sleep and relaxation. It can really help with stress and headaches (something that has been a problem for me recently). I love diffusing lavender when I go to bed, I find the scent relaxing and I love the gentle white noise from the diffuser. Lavender oil is soft and fresh, floral and spicy with a touch of sweetness. Perfect to let go of the stresses of the day! Lavender also helps keep annoying insects away, it is good for your pets too, gently rub some into your dogs ear to calm and sooth or use if they are feeling itchy! Tea Tree Oil I love Tea Tree Oil for its healing properties. I remember using it when I had my babies, a few drops in a hot bath is good for healing! The scent is fresh and invigorating. This oil can disinfect and is particularly good on problem skin. The scent has a relaxing effect and can combat tiredness and anxiety. It can reduce the effects of flu, a tickly cough and a sore throat. It is also excellent as a hand sanitiser, an antiseptic for minor cuts and grazes, it is good as a natural deodorant, and can be used for some skin conditions like acne and psoriasis. The Unity Diffuser has a 1, 3 or 6 hour timer as well as the option to have the ambient lighting on or off. The benefits of using an aroma diffuser regularly in your home include: Improving sleep quality Reducing stress and anxiety Increasing relaxation Boosting immune systems Repels insects Eliminates odours Improves respiratory health Increasing energy Calms emotions Reduces pain Boosts memory and concentration I really do love having a diffuser in my house, and I am particularly delighted with my new one from Smellacloud. I do think a diffuser and oils would make a super thoughtful gift and make a change from candles. Smellacloud have a 21% off Black Friday offer until Friday 27th November. Or if you miss that you can get 10% off using the code 'SMELLACLOUD' at checkout.
