So it's only 2 sleeps to my birthday on Thursday then my party is on Friday! I appear to have a sore throat/head cold which I am desperately trying to ignore in the hope that it will go away! I started my blog to connect with others, to document my life and share my thoughts and ideas, I wanted to be fifty and fab and I wanted to share that journey with others and maybe inspire other like-minded women. Writing my blog is not my job, it is a hobby, I am in awe of all the wonderful, slick blogs out there and I love seeing the instagram photos but I am not quite up to that standard yet although I hope that my blog does reflect real life. If I post an Outfit of the Day on Instagram it is genuinely taken that day of what I am wearing whilst running around doing chores and it is usually snapped on my phone by my daugther, in the garden and hoping for enough light to get a decent photo! So where am I now in my quest to be fifty and fab?
My fifties are giong to be differnt for me - my children are grown up. My son is still living at home but working full time and my daugther will soon be starting A levels and then onto university if all goes well. I will have more free time, more 'me time' and I want to use it well.
I hope you will stick with me and follow my journey and that my followers can gain some ideas and pick up tips from me that might just inspire them too. Love Michelle xx

Happy early birthday Michelle! Hope that cold clears up before your party. Love how real and relatable your blog is - the garden photos with your daughter sound so much more authentic than the super polished stuff. Congrats on all the progress you've made this year, really inspiring! 🎂

Happy early birthday Michelle! I hope that cold clears up before your party! I love your honest approach to blogging - it's so refreshing to see someone keeping it real instead of trying to be perfect all the time. Your progress this year is amazing, especially losing over a stone and all those inches! I'm turning 48 next month and I really relate to what you're saying about this next chapter of life. The kids getting older does give us that chance to focus on ourselves a bit more. Your goal about dressing up more for everyday life really resonates with me - I'm always saving things for special occasions that never come! Looking forward to following your journey. Enjoy your birthday celebrations! xx
