I'm writing this on Mothers Day while I wait for my family to get sorted and we head out, it has been a really busy March for me with so many lovely things going on. But in fact I have struggled to keep up with my blogging commitments due to some family stuff that has to be priority. But I've also done some really fun things too so I am sharing with you what I have been doing to be fifty and fabulous.... let me know what you've been doing and don't forget to use my hashtag on Instagram #beingfiftyandfab. March was also good because I finally found me again - read my HRT story here! Exercising - I'm still on an exercise break (you can read more about it here) but I will be back on it in April. I do miss it (yes really) mainly because I know it is good for me and I like feeling fit and healthy, so I will be getting back in the gym, moving more and just watching what I eat (and drink) - it is ten weeks until we go to Turkey for our holiday so I want to feel happy in my bikini. Reading - I have been reviewing a new book this month and will share all the details later this week with a full review post. I've got quite a stack of books I need to read right now though ... I am looking forward to getting on my sun lounger in Turkey and catching up! Doing - I've done so much this month! I attended the Vionic Spring/Summer 2019 launch event in London and I will do a full review on my blog and share with you some of my favourite styles. My daughter and I headed into London to see 9-5 The Musical which was such a fun day and a brilliant show, and another mild sunny day, we saw the matinee then had early supper in Covent Garden before getting the train home. It was one of those lovely easy days. My husband and son were away skiing! The following week I had an appointment with my HRT specialist in London so I was able to combine that with shopping and have a look at the new spring styles arriving in the shops. I attended the annual Inspire Conference organised by The Business Girls Network and listened to an very moving talk given by the DASH Charity (Domestic Violence Stops Here) and sponsored a capsule wardrobe for victims who have to leave their homes without their belongings. Then of course we were in Krakow for four nights with some very good friends - I really fell in love with the city, it's history and it's culture. I am looking forward to sharing much more with you as well as some tips for taking a capsule wardrobe on a city break. I had a super morning on Saturday too - I attended a Raw Chocolate and Essential Oils Workshop run by Jo from Time to Nourish and Clare Cogan from Creating Calm. We made some delicious treats and learnt a lot about the benefits of chocolate (the dark, raw kind though - not Dairy Milk)!! Above: I am wearing a gingham shirt from Mint Velvet with my faithful coated jeans from Next and new (gifted) Codie trainers from Vionic. Wearing - so all these busy outings has meant lots of outfits and with the sun appearing quite a lot I have enjoyed shedding some layers and wearing some of my spring outfits. I've even managed to get out without a coat some days. I've had a bit of a wardrobe swap over too but that is still a work in progress! And I bought not one, but two Gucci belts! When I went up to London for the Vionic launch event. I was with the gorgeous Stephanie - a friend and personal stylist - and we just happened to have time to pop into Selfridges. I'd saved Christmas and birthday money for the belt but then couldn't choose between the thinner neutral colour (for dresses) and a wider black one (for jeans)! Top above: a Boden sale dress worn with my new Gucci belt at the Vionic Spring/Summer Launch event at The Haymarket Hotel. Above: day in London with my daughter wearing Jigsaw cream jumper with Boden coated jeans, Mango lightweight down jacket, Sweet Bea scarf and bag I can't even remember where is is from by similar now at Spirit & Grace (but not online yet) and finally the other Gucci belt! Above: This is Chloe my gorgeous and very talented friend, we were at the Inspire Conference together and rocking our red and black look. Chloe and her colleague Anna have just launched a new venture - We are Tabono - a 12 month online programme designed to develop strong, confident entrepreneurs and business leaders. This holistic approach to entrepreneurship is new and exciting! Pop over to their website to find out more and follow them on social media. I am working with Chloe this week on one of their training videos! My red culottes are from Zara and my blouse is from J Crew (pre-loved from My Boudoir in Marlow). Above: I have to give this new Hush dress a mention - online now - it's soft, swishy, comfortable and flattering to wear. It has an elasticated waist which I have added the Gucci belt to. The Kensington Shirt dress is £75 and available in all sizes. I am wearing it with the Keke casual trainer from Vionic (purchased). And finally, I popped into see Wendy at The Wendy House in Maidenhead - her gorgeous home shop (read her Embracing Life interview here) - and came away with this outfit! The khaki coated jeans were in the sale so last pair but the the lace top and lace vest top (which you can't see) are from a new brand called Cream and can be ordered, the shoes come in lots of sizes and styles and the hat is from Powder. The handbag I had a similar (much cheaper one) last year so when I saw this all lined and with a cross body strap, I had to have it. Most items are available to order so do contact Wendy direct if you fancy something! That's me in March!! Please do use my hashtag on Instagram #beingfiftyandfab so I can share your posts on stories!
