Let's be honest, we'd all like to know how to look younger without resulting to extreme beauty treatments like botox etc. I know I am keen to find the best skin care for anti-ageing, improve my lines and wrinkles and generally do the best I can to take care of myself and my skin. So when Dawn who owns Sunrise Health & Beauty Salon in Marlow asked me if I'd like to try one of their anti-ageing treatments and blog about my experience and results, I was immediately excited and keen to accept. My skin care routine now ...Browsing through the before and after images for COMCIT by Crystal Clear I was struck by how many beautiful young ladies appear in their promotional material and how important it is to find a review from a real person / no photo-shopping / no filters / no professional camera! It does however mean that I feel very exposed by sharing photos of me make-up free, and up close. I am a make-up wearer at all times, I don't run out to the shops or spend Sunday's in PJ's and no make-up, I just don't feel comfortable. My skin does need a bit more care. I have a typical 'cleanse, tone and moisturise as quickly as possible' routine that requires some improvement! I suffered with mild to moderate acne as a teenager and well into my twenties. I am left with some scarring. I am also showing signs of aging, the lines and wrinkles are clearly visible these days. But overall I look young so I don't let it worry me particularly. Sometimes I will see a photo and think 'ouch' delete it! But I have never considered 'botox' or 'fillers', I am what I am! However, a more natural treatment designed to give my skin a new fresh glow, to lessen the appearance of my lines, acne scars, uneven pigmentation and make me feel younger, yes please! When I had some professional photos taken earlier in the summer, there were some that were a bit too close for comfort. Of course I notice my perceived flaws - others probably don't but we are all more self-conscious of looking at ourselves. So last week I headed off to Sunrise to try my first treatment. I love going to Sunrise, I have known Dawn for many years and their lovely large salon is welcoming, friendly and beautifully designed. They stock the Elemis skin care range and offer a really comprehensive range of treatments, including Jessica and Shellac manicures and pedicures, SunFX spray tan and Lycon waxing. I had attempted my own 'before' photos in the morning (left) and Joanne my therapist took a few more (right) ... the bottom right shows my skin a bit pink after the treatment but it soon calmed down! COMCIT is the most advanced anti-ageing treatment available ...I explained to Joanne where I consider my problem areas to be - around my mouth/when I smile and across my forehead (worry lines no doubt) probably around my eyes too but as I wear glasses I don't look too closely! There are obvious lines and acne scars and a lot of uneven skin tone. Dawn described the treatment as a results driven facial "the COMCIT facial is the most advanced anti-ageing facial available", I found it was a little uncomfortable in parts but if it is going to work then it isn't likely to be soft and gentle is it!? Oh what we do in the name of beauty and vanity! Joanne started off with cleansing my face and taking photos. I was relaxing on a very nice heated treatment bed under a warm towel. We chatted quite a lot as I was interested to understand more about the process and the benefits. The facial starts off with an exfoliation to prepare the skin and remove any dead skin cells, next your skin is treated using cryo-oxygen and micro-rollers, this involves creating tiny 'holes' to allow the serum to be pushed deep into the skin to stimulate your own collagen production and to enable your skin to plump and firm. The treatment covers your whole face and down to your decolletage, including the all-important neck area. Finally the crystal clear mask is applied to hydrate and calm the skin. This means ten minutes of relaxation time! As I have said, there were times during the treatment when it did feel uncomfortable but it was soon over and I knew it was doing me good so I wasn't concerned. Afterwards my skin was a little pink but the cooling and lifting mask was applied and this soon reduced. I left the salon without feeling the need to put a scarf over my face and run to the car park! Dawn said your skin will feel amazing tomorrow morning and she was right. I felt smooth and glowing, there was a tiny bit of pinkness but only like a healthy glow. Can I feel a difference? Can I see a difference? Yes definitely, the lines around my mouth and one particularly bad scar seems much softer and less pronounced. My skin feels softer and healthier brighter and less grey and it has improved more in the days following the treatment.. The best non-surgical wrinkle treatmentI am going back in two weeks for my next treatment. I had the 75 minute deluxe treatment and it is advised to have a course of 6-12 treatments done at two week intervals then monthly thereafter. Some ladies have a one off treatment or a top up as a preparation for a special occasion like a family wedding or special holiday.
The benefits as described by Crystal Clear COMCIT are: Instantly smooth, fresh, firmer, plumper and more youthful skin Reduced lines and wrinkles Tauter, more rejuvenated skin A significant energy boost Promotion of new Collagen growth I will be posting updates as I go along so keep popping back and look out for further information from me - or subscribe to my mailing list here so you never miss a post.
