I'm a bit later than my blogger friends with this one but a couple of weeks ago I was invited to join Gail from Is This Mutton and Anne from Mutton Years Style and I for the Prêt-à-Portea Afternoon Tea at The Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge. The afternoon tea is inspired by the world of fashion and the cakes are based on the latest looks from the catwalk. Ideal for a style blogger meet-up. I made my way into London a bit earlier and indulged in a black cab from Marylebone to New Bond Street so I could spend some time in Victoria's Secret, then I browsed in & Other Stories and one or two other stores before grabbing another cab to the hotel. It is a stunning hotel with a first class welcome and attentive service. We had a spacious and bright table looking out of the window and were given plenty of time to choose our blend of tea and then later we indulged in a bottle of champagne. I always find it a challenge to know what to wear for a day out in London - I don't want to be too hot in the shops, I don't want to be too cold when I'm outside, I want to look stylish, I want to be comfortable, I need a small bag that isn't heavy or cumbersome, I need to factor in that it might rain and I need to be able to walk! Do you have these worries? Please tell me I am not alone! It was fairly mild but I still felt I needed the warmth of a jumper so I chose this Hush sale purchase with the Love Rules caption (now only £35) and in a stunning royal blue colour. But I wanted to dress up a bit so a chose my grey heeled boots with my pleated skirt both from Mint Velvet, the scarf was another Hush sale purchase, popped my Mint Velvet leather biker over the top with my Accessorize silver cross body bag and I felt good to go. I wasn't cold, although the hotel was quite warm a times, and my feet stayed happy all afternoon! The sandwiches were delicious, very light and very tasty, the little bowls were different and superb, and the cakes were amazing to look at (and photograph), I didn't want to ruin them! And they were only bite size so nothing was too big or over-filling. I felt full but not stuffed. No scones though!
I really enjoyed chatting with Gail and Anne about all things blogging, other aspects of our lives, what we do, who we are and why we got into blogging. I'm looking forward to the next opportunity to meet. Love from Michelle xx

So glad to find you on Gail's link up! The hot/cold of in and out shopping in winter is always a challenge! No you aren't the only one who struggles with it... It looks like it was a fabulous afternoon; those cakes are truly glorious, and I miss a lovely tea. Sigh.

What a fun meet up! The food looks delicious and I like your royal blue knit with all the black in your outfit - it really pops! And I'm loving your little bag too - I have a similar silver cross body bag I wear any time I'm not sure what else to wear as it goes with everything!
