Collaborative Post | Summer brings with it two kinds of days. There are bright, sunny, and breezy days in which you want to go out and have fun, and then there are those sweltering ones in which stepping out seems like a punishment. This post is suitable for the latter type. We’ve collated a list of 13 fun indoor activities to do on a hot day, and without further ado, here it is: Photo by Antonika Chanel on Unsplash Whipping up new culinary delights: You’re probably groaning at the thought of cooking in the heat. But this is not exactly about cooking. Try out recipes for frozen desserts. You will not only add some more recipes to your collection, but you will also be able to enjoy delicious cool treats on those hot days.
Watch some good movies: So what if you can’t go out? Movies allow you to escape to wonderful locales and interesting adventures without so much as stepping a foot out of your living room. Draw the curtains or pull the shades down, crank up the AC, get some popcorn, and settle down with your loved ones for a movie marathon. Make some art: Cover a table with plastic. Bring out your art supplies and get creative. Don’t restrict yourself, let the art flow. Maybe you’ll create a new masterpiece for your bedroom walls. Play indoor or online games: Play some classic indoor games like carrom, chess, or cards. You can even play backgammon online. The options are endless in mobile and PC games. You don’t have to win or be a hardcore gamer, all you need to do is have fun. Solve some jigsaw puzzles: This is an activity that can keep you engrossed for hours without you having to move much. Does it not sound amazing for a hot day? Read some books: Again, this is a way to escape to new lands and new exploits without even moving a muscle (okay, maybe moving a little to pick up a new book or turn the page, but that’s about it). Settle down comfortably with a cool beverage and a book near a window. Have an indoor photoshoot: Natural light shines in its full glory on these days. Why not take advantage of the golden hour in the evening for some great sun-kissed pictures? You do not have to go out, just find a good spot near a window and wear a beautiful summer dress or shorts. It’s time to get some good clicks for the ‘gram. Arrange your digital photos: Put on a good playlist and arrange your images into neat and systematic folders. In doing so, you’ll be taking a trip down memory lane and if you sit with a loved one, it’s sure to fetch a few giggles and tears. Meditate: If you don’t think meditation can be fun, you’ve not had the full experience yet. Use an audio guide from the internet and explore the joy of meditation. Indulge in some spa time: No, we don’t mean going down to an actual spa. Recreate the spa experience at home with your loved ones. Lie down with some sheet masks. Give each other manicures and pedicures. Sip on some cold beverages. Cool down and relax with a book in the bathtub. Call friends and family: If it’s too hot to go out and mingle with friends or catch up with family, take advantage of technology. Get on video calls and share the latest happenings. Calls with loved ones can be very refreshing. Shop online or order takeout: Receiving an order at your door is like receiving a gift, although in this case, you are paying for it. It’s fun to browse through online catalogues and select something you love. It’s even better when it meets or exceeds your expectations when the order reaches you. Opt for some DIY craft projects: Turn to Pinterest for some quick inspiration. Select projects that need materials you already have in your house. Having fun indoors is not difficult at all. Take a look around your house. You can come up with fun activities with so many things that you have lying around in the house. On hot days, while you enjoy yourself, don’t forget to remain hydrated. Sufficient liquids in a day will keep the heat stroke at bay! Disclaimer: this is a collaborative post. Comments are closed.
