Have you heard of EMS training!? EMS refers to Electrical Muscle Stimulation and whilst it has been around a while, it is still a fairly new concept in the UK and not that well known yet but it is a fantastic way to kickstart a fitness programme. I tried it out recently, I completed three weeks of EMS training sessions with Karl at Frequency EMS in Reading. And my blog post will explain more about what it is and how I got on including what it felt like!
EMS training is an innovative approach that can give significant results in much less time compared to the more traditional workouts we are used to. An EMS session works all your major muscle groups in just 20 minutes, it's a full-body workout designed to help you achieve your fitness goals and improve your overall health over a shorter period of time. The spring season is almost here, blossom is beginning to appear, the daffodils are slowly opening, the snowdrops are in full bloom and we've even had a few sunny, mild days to lift ours spirits. And I don't know about you but with the promise of warmer weather my thoughts are turning to my spring style. French fashion brand Afibel are celebrating their 70th year in 2024 and they asked me to share a series of blog posts to showcase different ways to style some of their fabulous fashion for women over 50. I'm starting with Afibel's new spring collection of versatile separates! Afibel is proud to offer a comprehensive range of fashion for every BODY type, offering sizes from 6 to 34 and their new spring collection is the perfect balance between fashion, comfort and practicality with an emphasis on timeless style.

How I'm styling a satin slip skirt from The Style Story, a beautiful style boutique at Sunninghill4/2/2024 Back in early November, I was invited over to leafy Sunninghill, a pretty village close to the more famous Ascot in Berkshire. I'd been introduced to Lauren who runs a small style boutique in the village - The Style Story is a cross between a personal styling studio and a traditional fashion boutique. And Lauren herself is welcoming, friendly and incredibly stylish, with a background in visual merchandising, she started her career by studying at The London College of Fashion and The Fashion Retail Academy. Walking into her beautiful boutique it is clear she has an eye for both fashion and interiors and she has created an incredibly beautiful space and is clearly an expert at choosing just the right styles to stock both online and in-store at The Style Story.
This is a gifted blog post. What a year that was! How was your year? I feel like I lost myself a little during the second half of 2023, I won't go into it all again as I really hate being negative and want to embrace the positives. I also appreciate that. however tough I have found life recently, there are others in a far worse position. But if you missed my post previous post then you can read about my determination to get back to self-care and deal with a very low period in my life here.
BUT .... a new year, a blank diary and lots of possibilities await. First goal is to allow myself time to rest, make the most of a quiet period and not take on too much! I did an online Intention Setting Workshop with my lovely friend, and life coach, Chloe Leibowitz last week. And my biggest takeaway to share, start small, Rome wasn't built in a day. It is very tempting to get carried away with setting massive goals, inspired by all the sparkly, energetic and enthusiastic influencers on Instagram, but we are all different and lead very different lifestyles, different energy levels, budgets and time available to us. So make sure you remember, you are you, you are unique and beautiful and absolutely do not need to compare yourself to others. Do you use a word for the year? I've been doing it for a few years now and I find it really helps me focus my mind, rather than new year's resolutions, having one word is a simple reminder of things you want to do! One single word will help you to set your goals and intentions, everything you hope to achieve, can relate back to your word - keep it visible, I like mine to be the starting point for my vision board and I will also print off a quote to pin to my fridge! |
