I don't want to keep complaining about the dismal weather we've had this summer but seriously .... summer just never seemed to get going did it!? I'm hanging onto my summer clothes for a while longer it's still warm during the day even if there is a distinct chill in the air in the early mornings and evenings and I have to add layers. I'm yet to go on holiday however so I won't be doing the seasonal swap in my wardrobe for a few weeks yet. It could mean my wardrobe is bursting a bit at the seams! Cotton Traders asked me to style a couple of their designs for late summer transitioning into autumn and I chose their Stripe Tie-Front Jersey Top in Soft Coral (limited sizes now but also available in cornflower and dark aqua and the Long Sleeve Denim Shirt in Stonewash (unisex sizing so an oversized style on me). This is a gifted blog post. Starting with a warmer day look, the tie-front top worn with white jeans, ballet flats, and a cross body bag, perfect for shopping, sightseeing or coffee with friends. The tie-front jersey top is a thicker jersey fabric with a really flattering drape and the diagonal stripes create a slimming look. Or if it is cooler, you can easily add the denim shirt over in a jacket style but still feel very relaxed and easy! An overshirt is a comfortable style addition and denim is always good. My ballet flats are from Dune and are a timeless style that are comfortable and perfect for the transitional weather, still lightweight but better than a sandal if it does rain! Had to get Katy and Bonnie in, they really do look very comfortable posing for photos! I've swapped the tie-front top for a stripe bandeau from Marks & Spencer but I'm wearing the shirt over and I've added my Sans Matin trainers and cross-body bag for a dog walk (strictly non-muddy)! Get 20% off at Sans Matin. I bought the straw cross-body bag for sightseeing days in Florence and the bandeau top with the denim overshirt will work well to protect my shoulders from the sun. My white jeans are the straight leg crop style from Crew Clothing, white jeans can be difficult to get right, I prefer a straight leg or wide leg but I love white jeans for late summer and into autumn. I also have cream jeans for autumn which work really well! In high summer I tend to favour dresses but as soon as the temperatures dip slightly white jeans come into their own and before we pack away our light colours in favour to darker shades. What do you think, do you like how I've styled these pieces from Cotton Traders? Take a look at the New In from Cotton Traders.
